Job Description

A Special Education Teacher position is available for a middle school setting in Cottonwood, AZ. This role involves managing a self-contained classroom model for 11 students alongside 2 paraprofessionals. The position operates on a contract basis for the current school year, with a schedule of four days per week, Monday through Thursday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to support student learning and behavior management.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students with special education requirements.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
• Maintain communication with parents, staff, and administration regarding student performance and needs.

Qualifications:

• Active Arizona Special Education teaching license is required.
• Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
