Job Title: Python Developer

Location: New York, NY 10020 (Onsite)

Duration: 03 Months (Possibility of extension or conversion of FTE)

PR Range: $30 - 32/hr On W2

Job Description: 

What we are looking:

• Looking for a relatively junior developer. What we have on the desk here is a growing Python code repository. The person would maintain essentially the production and test environments for this code.
• We have a server that runs several processes and tasks for the desk, and this person should be able to add to the code base, help with refactoring, help with cleaning up, and help build a more robust code base.
• The general skills needed for this are oriented Python programming. There are quite a lot of synchronous calls, so a lot of experience there will be, would be helpful.
• Experience with data structures.
• Experience with pandas in Python, Python-specific concepts, and their performance implications.
• We will probably need to develop some sort of web interface, so experience in web development would be a plus.
• Essentially need someone who can work on a simple Python-based server that's running a couple of simple tasks on a web interface.
• We do use Murex here on the desk, and some things are linked to Murex. If the person has seen Murex in the past, that's a plus, not a requirement.
• The team is the front office working next to the traders and the salespeople, involved with research-type tasks or just new, new product development, essentially. This person would be helping HM, as well as the desk. Would probably work on a bit more conceptual type thing.
• Willing to consider a college grad with strong Python skills.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with derivatives pricing or pricing systems (e.g., Numerix / Murex / QuantLib)
• Development of Web UI
