Job Description Job Description The Legal Secretary/Paralegal will work with other support staff and the firm's attorneys in real estate, litigation, and land use development matters. This position will assist attorneys in the management and handling of litigation matters in federal and state courts, including, but not limited to the preparation and filing of pleadings, preparation and management of discovery and trial preparation. This position will also assist attorneys in the management and handling of land use development matters and estate planning matters, like drafting Wills and Probate matters. The Secretary/Paralegal will also assist attorneys in producing documents and correspondence by preparing formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics via correspondence and/or e-mails; initiating telecommunications; organizing client meetings or conference calls; scheduling couriers, meetings and Court appearances; coordinating preparation of charts, graphs, and other visuals. Assists attorneys by documenting and inputting attorney billable time and reimbursable expenses. Skills/Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a minimum of one year experience in a law firm doing similar work. They must be dependable and professional, possess computer skills to accomplish the foregoing and have excellent telephone and interpersonal skills. Must be experienced in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Centerbase, Time Matters and Time Slips. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
