Job Description Job Description A Morris County, New Jersey Law Firm seeks a full-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal. Essential Functions of the Job : CALENDARING: Maintain calendars of all assigned attorneys, schedule meetings, depositions and other events within the parameters of attorneys' requirements, remind all participants of meetings, court dates, due dates, dates for filing, etc.; DRAFTING DOCUMENTS: Transcribe dictations, draft/revise routine correspondence and documents, sometimes on own initiative (cover letters and enclosure letters), draft/revise from handwritten notes or oral instructions, proofread and correct legal documents as needed, maintain office formatting style on all documents; COURT SUBMISSIONS: Assist with court filings, manage attachments, and formatting; and MAINTAINING FILES: Organize and maintain files, including the organization/filing of both paper and electronic documents on OneDrive and Sharepoint. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ideal candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, OneDrive, Sharepoint, and Adobe Acrobat; Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers and scanners; Knowledge of Macintosh operating system a plus; Accurate typing and proofreading skills including accurate spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and grammar; Ability to communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, agencies and the general public in a professional manner; Exhibit a desire to team with other support staff, administrators and attorneys; Ability to prioritize work and adjust priorities; and Demonstrate the ability to undertake additional responsibilities and assist others when requested. Candidate must also: Possess a keen eye for detail; Have the ability to prioritize; Have exceptional capacity to multitask; Be self-sufficient; and Be dedicated.
