Housekeeper (Residential)

The Housekeeper reports to the Property Manager, under the supervision of the Service Manager, and ensures the overall cleanliness and proper appearance of the exterior and interior physical features of the community; this is accomplished by performing tasks to maintain the grounds, vacant apartment homes, leasing office, amenity areas, and overall curb appeal.

Essential Functions:

• The following will involve working with the Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager and/or Service Manager:
• Perform hands-on duties to ensure vacated units are move-in ready, including but not limited to dusting, cleaning countertops, vacuuming, and mopping
• Responsible for the daily upkeep of all common/amenity areas, office, clubhouse, and models
• Inspect the community throughout the day to remove litter, debris, and pet droppings and ensure all common areas and amenities are neat at all times
• Report community safety hazards to supervisor
• Follow and maintain the interior maintenance programs and schedules established within the company as directed by the Service Manager
• Complete assigned minor and routine service requests correctly and in a timely manner
• Maintain top-notch customer service relationships with residents, prospects, and coworkers
• Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by Service Manager or Property Manager
• Adhere to CIM safety and hazard communications programs, policies and procedures, and maintain a safe work environment

Non-Essential Functions:

• May work irregular hours (early mornings, weekends), based on the needs of the property
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate primarily works in an outdoor environment exposed to adverse weather conditions as well as dirt and/or dust

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High school education required
• Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license
• Previous knowledge/experience of housekeeping, janitorial and general maintenance preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Communication Skill Requirements:
• - Read and interpret documents such as service requests
• - Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• - Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with residents, clients, team members, and other business contacts, and respond courteously to questions and requests
• Mathematical Skill Requirements:
• - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Reasoning Skill Requirements:
• - Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions
• - Ability to solve practical problems
• Technical Skill Requirements:
• - Working knowledge of basic interior/exterior maintenance, hand tools and cleaning equipment
• - Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment used to perform job duties
• - Must be detail oriented, have high standards, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required.
